Delawares were originally developed in the state of Delaware from crossing a Barred Plymouth Rock male with a New Hampshire female. Although much different in color, their shape resembles that of a New Hampshire breed rather than the Barred Plymouth Rock. The Delaware
is solid white except for some barring on both the hackle and tail feathers. They are quiet and easy to handle.
