Rhode Island Reds were developed in the state of Rhode Island and are on of the most recognized and popular of the American breeds for years. They are one of the most prolific egg layers, producing approximately 250 eggs annually, while still heavy enough to be considered and excellent dual purpose breed. They make an excellent choice for both cold and warm weather climates.
